Dental Sealants Dentist

Dental Sealants Dentist Flowood MS
An Easy and Effective Way for Teens and Kids to Prevent Tooth Decay
Even when brushing is thorough and daily dental care is well supervised, the deep grooves of back teeth are sometimes extremely difficult to keep clean. Small accumulations of bacteria grow and lead to decay. Whether the cavity is large or small, it will need a restoration.

Is there any preventive treatment that can reduce the chances of this happening? Yes, there is! One application of a dental sealant will greatly reduce the development of cavities. The treatment is amazingly easy.

After the surfaces of the teeth are cleaned and sterilized, a thin coat of the sealant is applied to teeth. It is clear in color and not visible. The doctor uses a curing light to bond the sealant to the enamel. And in just a few minutes, the whole procedure is done without any shots, drilling, or removal of tooth structure. It is safe and one of the best prevention treatments for teens and children to help them keep their natural teeth throughout their lives.

Gum Disease Treatment Flowood MS
You Risk Losing Your Teeth with Gum Disease
The main reason teeth are lost is from chronic or advanced gum disease. Infected gums do not always have symptoms in the beginning stages. But signs to watch for are loose teeth or bleeding gums during daily cleaning. If treated in the early stages, treatment can be nonsurgical. Once the problem is severe, surgery is usually the necessary procedure.

Easier Treatment for Gum Infection

We let our patients know about the signs of gum disease and the importance of treatment when it is still in the beginning stages. Before the infection has spread or is prolonged, nonsurgical treatments work well when combined with better daily care. If you wait until the infection is severe, surgery may be your only option. Both methods are generally covered by dental insurance plans.

Gum Disease Linked to Serious Health Conditions
Heart Disease and your Oral Health
New medical research has shown that gum disease can pose a more serious problem to your health than just losing your teeth. A link has been established between gum infection and life-threatening conditions such as diabetes, stroke, and heart disease. What's worse, the American Dental Association has estimated that 80% of Americans have gum disease. Dentists now regard this problem as epidemic level.

The American Academy of Periodontology reports that "studies found periodontal infection may contribute to the development of heart disease, increase the risk of premature, underweight births, and pose a serious threat to people whose health is already compromised due to diabetes and respiratory diseases." Periodontal disease is a bacterial infection of the gums. These bacteria travel into the bloodstream, having a harmful effect on vital organs.

Even One Missing Tooth Can Cause Problems

Prevent Tooth LossNo, you can't die from losing a tooth, or even two or three. But missing teeth cause other problems. To start with, your chewing will not be as productive as with a full set of teeth. You will not obtain as many nutrients from your food when chewed. If it becomes too difficult to eat more nutritious foods, you may start to choose high-carbohydrate foods that are softer and easier to eat and may result in weight gain. Speech can change and could even cause embarrassment. Your face can appear sunken, which makes you look older than your age.

Dental Crowns Dentist

Single Visit Carestream Dental Crowns Flowood MSNatural-Looking Crowns Made While You Wait
xYou know the routine. You visit the dentist. You need a crown. The dentist prepares the tooth, takes an impression, and installs a temporary crown. You then wait two weeks to return to the dentist, and he installs the permanent crown. And if the fit isn't perfect, it goes back to the lab and you wait again. And return to the dentist again.

But now, that's all changed. With new technology, our doctors can reduce that two-week waiting period and the two or three office visits to just a single visit! Carestream Dental's amazing intra-oral camera and on-site computer-aided design and milling device allow us to create a permanent crown in just a few minutes. Now, there's no more waiting for the lab and no return trips to the dentist. Our patients love it!

One Visit Dental Crowns Dentist Flowood MSCarestream Dental's system allows us to repair a damaged tooth in about an hour. In most cases, gooey impressions and temporary crowns are not needed, and patients are thrilled with the long-lasting, high-quality ceramic restoration that is indistinguishable from their real teeth.

The CS 3500 intra-oral camera takes true-color, 3D images of the tooth. The pictures are then displayed on a computer screen, enabling us to design the restoration, which the CS 3000 mill immediately creates on site. Once it's complete, we bond your beautiful new restoration to the surface of the old tooth. All in the same day!

Oral Hygiene Care

Adult Dental Care Flowood MS
We want you to have the best dental health, and having your teeth professionally cleaned by our hygienist is an important part of healthy teeth and gums. Plaque forms on teeth even with meticulous brushing. When it hardens into tartar, cleaning with your toothbrush will not remove it. If it advances to the gums, you risk developing periodontal (gum) disease. Other, more serious health conditions have been linked to advanced or chronic gum infection. Recent research shows gum disease plays a role in the development of heart disease, diabetes, and stroke. So please have your teeth cleaned regularly to stay healthy!

Clear Orthodontics

We are very pleased to provide Invisalign™ and ClearCorrect™ aligners, invisible orthodontics that can straighten your teeth in only 9 -15 months. They correct many of the problems of overcrowding, overbite, underbite, crossbite, and widely spaced teeth.

With 3-D computer imaging, a complete plan is provided from the current status of your teeth to your final new smile. Clear thermoplastic aligners are created for you, and every 2 - 3 weeks you will advance to a new set as your teeth are gently moved into place. Evaluation is only every one or two months. Your total treatment time depends on your own correction and goals.
Clear Advantages to AlignersThere are specific advantages to wearing Invisalign or ClearCorrect. Discreetness is very important, and no one will ever know you are straightening your teeth. The aligners are only noticeable if someone looks at your teeth close up.

They are comfortable to wear because they're one piece, and that means they do not need to be checked and adjusted on a frequent basis. Gone are the metal brackets bonded to your teeth and adjusted with wires. Headgear is also a thing of the past, and you will not have any type of mouth irritation with these advanced aligners.

You wear them all day and during sleep, but they are removable for eating and brushing and then replaced. You can eat whatever you like during your treatment time - absolutely no food restrictions!

Dental Implants Dentist

It's easy to capture a full smile again with dental implants. They provide the look and functions of real teeth. You will be able to eat all the foods you like and smile with confidence again. They are permanently replaced and never need to be taken out.

Implants have a very life-like appearance, since they come up through the gums like a regular tooth instead of sitting on top of gums like dentures or a bridge. You can have implants for as many teeth as are missing. Denture wearers greatly benefit and no longer have to worry about slippage and trapped food. We can often handle the entire process of implant placement and restoration for you. In some cases, the difficulty of the case requires the surgical portion be handled by a specialist. We work closely with several excellent surgeons and can coordinate your care between their office and our own to make the process easy for you.
